In close cooperation with the central project Z-INF the scientists of the CRC develop processes and tools to organize and store research data in such a way that their re-use is guaranteed both within the CRC and later outside the CRC.
A data-oriented process for the sustainable organisation of research data was developed and applied. The process is based on version control technologies, issue tracking and (public) repositories with their issue of persistent identifiers. Furthermore, data formats were evaluated and the use of the data format HDF5 was examined using test data.
