Collision Phenomena in Liquids and Solids

New book on the physical foundations of collision and impact phenomena

2017/05/12

Prof. Alexander L. Yarin (University of Illinois, Chicago), Prof. Ilia V. Roisman and Prof. Cameron Tropea (Institute for Fluid Mechanics and Aerodynamics) have edited a new book entitled “Collision Phenomena in Liquids and Solids”. The monograph gives a comprehensive account of the physical foundations of collision and impact phenomena and their applications in a multitude of engineering disciplines.

The book is divided into five sections and covers the collision of liquid jets and drops with a dry solid wall, drop impacts onto liquid surfaces, spray formation and spray impact, collisions of solids with liquid, and solid-solid collisions.
